To say ‘ Milk ‘ was styled for Apple users might be an understatement. Streamlined like a Mac and with equal emphasis on sleek form and minimalist functionality, this computer desk might not stand the test of time (e.g. when the world truly goes wireless) but as a contemporary of-the-moment work surface it seems superbly streamlined to its purpose – whether or not you share its goals. Is it minimalist, or the opposite: over-engineered?...

Sam Baron designed these Philippe I tables for Casamania — the evolution of their Marie Antoinette Pop Collection, presented by Casamania in 2009. The tables are made of a combination of lacquered MDF with rich walnut. To me, the legs look like ballerinas delicately balancing on their toes, and overall, the table grouping reminds me a bit of chess pieces…seems kind of an unlikely combination. © 2010 Design Milk | Posted by Jaime...

I wish I had taken photos of Vladimir Kagan’s Capricorn collection for Oasiq at ICFF when I saw it. Although not a new collection, they are releasing some new cushions this year. It’s breathtaking. It makes you instantly want to be on a sundeck in a sunny, warm place with a frosty drink. So good. © 2010 Design Milk | Posted by Jaime in Home Furnishings | Permalink | No comments | Tweet This | Share on Facebook  Read More →

Forget designer explanations and architectural theory for a moment, skip augmented-reality buzz-art and over-hypedAR gaming … then take a look at the ‘reality’ on the ‘ground’ as it is: move around this series of white cubes and create your own shadowy wonderland at the intersection of art and architecture. This light table looks like it is somehow casting shadows, and the result is an interactive illusion that...
