The house in the images below is simply amazing! Your Called the Glass Pavilion and worth $35 million, this house will surprise you with its daring design. All the exterior walls are actually made out of glass, which means that everything going on inside is visible from outside. And since the Glass Pavilion has five bedrooms, a kitchen, a wine room and an art gallery for cars, you could  Read More →

If this looks large to you, imagine how big it would seem to someone half your size or smaller. Like some childrens picture-book come to life, this ‘ Enchanted Forest ‘ wooden tree house may look a bit kitsch to us as adults from a design perspective – but for kids it is one very cool combination of fairy tale magic and real-life adventure. Held up by a combination of wooden beams and actual tree trunks, a spiral staircase...

Those of you that happen to organize plenty of dinner parties with friends and family are probably used to changing the décor of your living room a lot in order to make sure your dinner table can accommodate all guests. But moving furniture around, even if only just a table can be very annoying. That’s why the Walking Table will become your best friend instantly. You won’t have to lift it and carry it around the house as the Walking...

The Safe House below looks like a modern fort and it definitely doesn’t excite the eye, at least not at first. But once you pass through those concrete gates and enter the actual Safe House, you’ll be surprised by its inner beauty. And it’s not a cheap cliché either but a marvelous architectural idea. The “Beast” looks simple on the outside, but it’s on the inside where the architect really shows talent....

Like a tree in a densely-packed forest, this Tokyo home by Mount Fuji Architects (images by Kenichi Suzuki) is surrounded on all sides with nowhere to grow but up – and nowhere to focus on the ground level except internally. In classic Japanese style, however, this small-lot limitation was turned into a design opportunity. The space inside is surprisingly open, warm and livable, in stark contrast to the squarish, bare-bones, gray-box appearance...

A mix of styles can make or break a home design – whether it works here is for you to judge. Clearly combining elements of Prairie Style Modernism with ancient Chinese and Japanese architectural traditions, this cliff-top residence along the Malibu Beach coast is at once large and luxurious and yet also somehow understated on such a landscape-dominated property. Simple steel, stone, concrete, wood and (above all) rammed earth blend in...

Looking at it from the outside, you’re probably not going to fall in love with the Modular House in the images below. But once you step right inside, at least virtually, you’ll completely change your mind. The Modular House has been designed by the team of architects at A-Cero and can be found in Coruna, Spain. The combination of glass and aluminum panels on the outside make it look like a warehouse from certain angles. But this...

Dornob does not usually list houses that you can actually buy per say, but for this offbeat piece of prefabricated history (for sale by owner Steven Sparks ) an exception just had to be made.  The Lustron was a short-lived phenomena due to increasing material costs, and of the tens of thousands produced only a few thousand remain today (and even fewer are in relatively original condition, like the MOMA display example above). Though the Lustron...

If you love water and nature in general then you’ll love the Fish House in the pictures below. Designed by Guz Architects in Singapore, this spacious house seems to be built on water and it’s definitely fun to live in. Besides the impressive pool that seems to endlessly revolve around the Fish House, you also have a spectacular view of the ocean that’s just outside. Moving on we…  Read More →

Crazy and curved both inside and out, the home was made of a combination of concrete and found materials, both inorganic but also natural (and relevant) ones including local seashells and regional coral. Instead of corners, each curve flows fluidly into the next to make for a series of experiential spaces that mimic the infinitude of the fractals that form them. Best of all, it is perfectly sited on the beach of a remote southern island –...

The MultiSensis luxury spa shower brings the health club to home all in one nice package. The shower is made by Sanindusa and includes aromatherapy and chromotherapy. One of the things I like is the choices of different jets. There is virtually a water stream ranging from rain shower to hydro-massage which provides different options depending of the preference of the person. This makes the spa shower more flexible and able to meet the different...

It seems like some kind of strange fairy tale come true – and for the owner and designer of this small rural dream dwelling, perhaps it is. At under a hundred square feet, what was once a little hunting lodge has become (an albeit still-tiny) house remodeled from top to bottom, inside and out in Victorian style. Maybe this is the new American Dream: simultaneously more realistic yet also more visionary than most of us could imagine for...

I am a big fan of a steam shower cabins , but for smaller bathrooms space often cannot be allotted to such luxuries. This model measures in at 100 x 80 centimeters (39.3 x 31.4 inches). It features 12 bodyjets, chromatherapy, tropical rain, ozonator, four mood spots, coaster, sequential massage and foot massage settings. Further, it comes with a seat when you really want to kick back and relax. More information: here . Post from Steam Shower...
