Add a touch of femininity to your car with CarLashes . Sorry, couldn’t resist posting. Silly, but also kinda cute. Can someone design a better logo for them, please? The Boomerang Wok by Nikolai Carels allows you to flip omelets back onto themselves or cook without flinging food out of your pan. The pan has a strategically-designed inner lip that curves inward to keep food from flying over the edge. From the website: Stir-frying enables you put a delicious, varied and healthy meal on the table in no time at all. Unfortunately, when stir-frying …  Read More →

These floating concept homes from Daniel Andersson were inspired by the idea of an iceberg. Basically, an iceberg only shows the tip above the water surface and the rest stays hidden below, therefore in these floating summer homes the living space would be primarily located below the surface of the water. Everything is arranged in a spiral format around a central atrium complete with staircase…  Read More →

TEEbooks is a new wall system that becomes invisible when books and other items are placed on it. From the designer: Tee, in the words of a golfer is the T-shaped support that is stuck into the ground on which the ball is placed to get started on golfing. It is driven into the ground to make it almost invisible. It is of a fundamental importance, but only as a support “to serve the ball.” I designed TEEbooks following the same principle,...

The Magisso Cake Server was a big hit when we posted it late last year and now they’ve lowered the price and launched a plastic version available in a few fun colors . This simple tool, designed by Finnish art and design student Maria Kivijärvi, slices cakes into the perfect single slice. Just cut and then squeeze the handle to keep the cake intact until it reaches your plate. © 2010 Design Milk | Posted by Jaime in Home Furnishings...

Rui Alves is a designer with his own studio called My Own Super Studio based out of Portugal. At DMY Berlin , he presented two new projects, AVÔ Stool and Welcome to the Jungle (above). Welcome to the Jungle: James (elephant), John (hippopotamus), Jeremy (lion), Jerry (giraffe) and Joe (crocodile) Alves noticed that his son, like many children, loves to play with his ever growing collection of toy animals, so he decided to create a grouping...

76 Newington Green Road is on a narrow site in London. Designed by Amenity Space , the project was recently completed in May 2010. The building unites two time periods and is genuine social and sustainable approach by both the client and design team. Oh the backsplash and the green tub! I love those details. From the architects: Amenity Space won planning permission in May 2009. The design subtly references the proportions, materiality and texture...

Why bother choosing just one color for your wall when you can have a rainbow cake and eat it too. Wait, that doesn’t make sense. Whatever. Anyway, Sally Kuchar has finished her paint chip wall project and I think it’s such a fun idea, especially for a rental. Who else but Sally would also wear neon green high top sneakers? © 2010  Read More →

Psychic Factory came out with this concept that I find very appealing, even for the modern amateur DJ like myself. Can you imagine mixing and scratching from the couch while streaming the tunes to your wireless speakers? I can. If there was a spectrum of tattoo-inspired designs, Ed Hardy would be on one and and Corita Rose on the other. Corita Rose is a British company that designs chairs, sofas, pillows, curtains and fabric all inspired by iconic, graphic designs that range in influence from the medieval to classic tattoo flash art. I like the vibrant colors and fun graphics — I think it could add a pop of fun into any room…maybe starting with just a pillow?...

Oh, yes, this bed from Lago caught my eye earlier this week and I’m in LUV. The bed features adjustable sides that can act as a headboard, bed cover when guests are over, or even create a cave-like feeling when you’re lying in bed. I also love the nightstands that look like they’ve been unzipped. The Flos Soft Architecture Wall Piercing lights caught my eye on Stylepark and I can only imagine the possibilities of this type of lamp. You can create some very artistic and creative patterns using a grouping of these simple ring lights. Also on the Soft Arch site and worth noting is the Boobs light : “we can shape your wildest dreams.” © 2010 Design Milk | Posted by Jaime in Home Furnishings | Permalink | No comments | Tweet...
