Designer Spotlight: Adam Rowe Design

November 23rd, 2009 admin

Simply stating that the old meets the new in Adam Rowe Design’s work is not going deep enough. The innovative use of classic design and modern material, of using basic building blocks to create one-of-a-kind works of art, is something that this designer does with apparent ease. His ethos is to “fully develop what a material can do” by bending, stretching, carving, and otherwise experimenting with the forms that he produces. The above pictured victorian chair combines cheap composite wood with high-grade leather in order to challenge the misconceptions of material value, as well as to create a beautiful new take on a favorite design, a common theme in his work.
